Salient Features of the Department

History

  1. Department has started in the academic year 2005-06 with an intake of 60.

  2. Intake was increased gradually to 120 in 2007-08, to 180 in 2012-13 and to 240 during the academic year 2013-14.

Accreditations and Recognitions

  1. Department is accredited by NBA four times in the years 2012, 2015, 2018 and 2022 for a duration of 3 years each time.

  2. College was accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade in 2017, with a score of 3.36 on a scale of 4, which is the highest score by any institution that has gone for accreditation for the first time. And, the college is accredited by NAAC with 'A+' grade in 2022.

  3. Institution has become UGC Autonomous during the academic year 2016-17. And, the same is extended up to  2026-27 in the year 2022 (for 5 years)

  4. NIRF Ranked in India Rankings 2021: Engineering (Rank-band: 251-300)

  5. The institute is Recognized in the Band "Excellent" in ARIIA 2021 Rankings

  6. Institution has SIRO recognition.

  7. Institution is ISO certified.

  8. College is recognized by NAAC as a mentoring institute for other colleges

Human Resources and Infrastructural facilities

  1. Student Teacher ratio has been consistently good around 15.

  2. Highly motivated and experienced faculty members. Ten are Doctorates.

  3. A good number of faculty (nearly 10%) have both teaching and industry experience

  4. Average experience of faculty is more than 12 years

  5. Strong faculty retention of about 80%

  6. Department has spacious laboratories with the equipment reflecting the state of the art technology.

  7. Software such as MATLAB, SCILAB, Multi Sim, Cadence tools, Xilinx, Keil, MASM, LT Spice, OCTAVE.

  9. Centers of Excellence in VLIS and IoT & Embedded Systems for training the students in core areas to improve placements.
