Department has started in the academic year 2005-06 with an intake of 60.

Intake was increased gradually to 120 in 2007-08, to 180 in 2012-13 and to 240 during the academic year 2013-14.

Department is accredited by NBA four times in the years 2012, 2015, 2018 and 2022 for a duration of 3 years each time.

College was accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade in 2017, with a score of 3.36 on a scale of 4, which is the highest score by any institution that has gone for accreditation for the first time. And, the college is accredited by NAAC with 'A+' grade in 2022.
