The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association for electronic engineering and electrical engineering (and associated disciplines) with its corporate office in New York City and its operations center in Piscataway, New Jersey. It was formed in 1963 from the amalgamation of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers and the Institute of Radio Engineers.

 

Due to its expansion of scope into so many related fields, it is simply referred to by the letters I-E-E-E (pronounced I-triple-E), except on legal business documents. As of 2018, it is the world's largest association of technical professionals with more than 4, 23, 000 members in over 160 countries around the world. Its objectives are the educational and technical advancement of electrical and electronic engineering, telecommunications, computer engineering and allied disciplines.

About IEEE GCET SB

The IEEE - GCET Student Branch was inaugurated in 2010 and the branch has been assigned a Branch code STB - 05841 and College code - 60050138. The Student Branch emphasizes conducting more activities and technical events that can develop the skills of a student in both technical and managerial aspects. We believe that in the ever-evolving world of today, networking is the key to knowledge advancement. So, with the international fraternity provided to us by the IEEE, this is the perfect way to impart information from the experts themselves and be a part of something that is bigger than ourselves.

        The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading recognised professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. Founded in 1953. The IETE is the National Apex Professional body of Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science and IT Professionals.

ISTE

        The Indian Society for Technical Education is a National, Professional, Non-profit making Society registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860. First started in 1941 as the Association of Principals of Technical Institutions (APTI), it was converted into "Indian Society for Technical Education" in 1968 with a view to enlarge its activities to advance the cause of technological education .The major objective of the ISTE is to assist and contribute in the production and development of top quality professional engineers and technicians needed by the industries and other organizations. Being the only national organization of educators in the field of Engineering and Technology, ISTE effectively contributes in various missions of the Union Government. The Ministry of Human Resource Development, CTE/DST/MIT/State Govts. are well associated with the ISTE for programs relating to technical education.

      ISTE Student chapter was started in Geethanjali of Engineering and Technology, in the year 2011.It was admitted by the Executive Council as Institutional Member of the society.
